One year ago I came to Costa Rica for my very first visit. I scheduled a facelift. As a nurse I was a little cautious of what to expect outside of the United States’ healthcare system.  What a delightful surprise I experienced, what wonderful people I met, and what a tremendous result I have in appearance.

Though I travelled alone, I never felt alone. Arrangements were made to meet me at the airport and transport me to the recovery ranch where I was set to recuperate in.  All of my appointments were made and prepared for me. I was to have surgery at Hospital Clinica Biblica.  All arrangements were made through MTI; I did not have to worry about where to go, what to do, or how to communicate.  MTI’s ground staff took care of not only my needs but my wants as well. They escorted me throughout the doctor visits, the pre-op lab work, and gave me a tour of the whole hospital.  As a nurse I was interested in every aspect. When I needed help communicating, they were always available.  Before and after surgery MTI’s staff was there to assist me.

When I announced that I was going to have medical care outside of the states, my co-workers and students were skeptical and fearful for me, and neither did I know what to expect. But being a patient at Clinica Biblica I learned new lessons. It was a clean, efficient clinic and hospital, with well trained staff, and excellent healthcare providers.  Never did I fear infection (actually I witnessed them taking more care than my experiences back home).  Believe me, I watched everything they did carefully!  I had special diet needs, and those were met. They saw to all of my post-op needs during my overnight stay after surgery.

Since that visit I have returned twice and I will continue to seek medical care here, everything from dental to check-ups. I am not insured in the United States, and if I were the cost here, care here, and experiences here are far better than paying the prices of insurance at home. Hospital Clinica Biblica is my first choice! Thank you MTI for your care and attention throughout my surgical process.

My medical treatment at Hospital Clinica Biblica went far beyond my expectations. The hospital itself is spotlessly clean. The staff is courteous and friendly. Best of all, I had a wonderful doctor who was totally professional and exuded confidence and competence. Immediately after the procedure, which was under general anesthesia, I felt so good that I walked back to my hotel.
